Dr Leslie Ferguson, MD, MSc, FRCPC is a qualified Neurologist with fellowship training in Movement Disorders.

Movement disorders including tremor, Parkinson’s disease, multiple system atrophy, progressive supranuclear palsy, ataxia, tic disorders, dystonia, chorea and myoclonus. Dr Ferguson has experience with and is qualified to perform botulinum toxin injections to treat various movement disorders and headache.

Dr Leslie Ferguson attended medical school followed by neurology residency training at the University of Saskatchewan. After retiring from the Canadian Armed Forces. He then completed fellowship training in movement disorders at the University of Calgary. He also has a master’s degree in Epidemiology. He has 15 peer reviewed publications and 13 abstracts in research of Parkinson’s disease and Progressive Supranuclear Palsy. He is an avid participant in martial arts with training in Karate and Tai Chi. He is married to the most supportive spouse and has two adult children.

    Dystonia is defined as a syndrome of involuntary sustained or intermittent muscle contractions leading to twisting or repetitive movements. The central problem in dystonia is the exaggerated activation of muscle groups that are required for the execution of a certain movement.
